Default Standing on the Edge!!!

So I found a f150 Supercrew FX4 with 89k on the clock Pretty much fully loaded and they want 10,990... Lookin at KBB it is a screaming deal. For that price it makes me think that there is something wrong with the pick up? But they assure me nothing is wrong, but I am still a little undecided on that...

I figured that I would come to the experts and get some opinions?

Any opinions on the FX4?

I'm with ROUSH get the car fax. check over all the fluids make sure the tranny fluid doesnt smell burnt and the oil is smooth not alot of grit. they are usually pretty good trucks if the owner took care of the maintince. check and see if they have all the records of the work they've had done to it helps too

i got my truck for $10,500 with 70000miles on it a year ago....not an fx4 but you can find some good deal.... main thing is look it over really good, get someone to test drive it with you run it through the paces of normal driving plus some and get it on some grass and test the 4x4 to make sure its working good or working at all

and yes carfax is a very good friend

You can also go to you're local Midas or other independent shop and have them do a Buyers Check. It is usually around $100 and takes a couple hours. I had a friend do this on a 4runner she really wanted and glad I did. The guy wanted $5500 and the car was immaculate, just super clean and ran great. Midas did the check and found $4600 worth of repairs that would need to be done, including replacing the rear axle...

^^^ I do have a clean carfax I would be the 3rd owner. First owned it for 2 months and sold it, 2nd owner had it for 5 and a half years, putting about 12k on the clock a year. 2nd owner lived in Texas, in in the Airforce and was transfered to a AFB near me, used it as a trade in for a Camaro. The turck is PERFECTLY CLEAN on the outside

We didn't have a carfax because it was being sold by a private owner. We had Midas do the check before purchasing, *just in case*, and she was glad we did!

^^^That is still a great idea saved which her *** ...

Out of the inventory of used vehicals out there... I have not seen one in this condition, with 89k on the clock for just shy of 11k.

I got all my ducks in a row... Just waiting to pull the trigger.
