Default New guy in NC

Hello everyone. New guy in NC here. I just picked up a solid but crusty V6 1998 F-150 XL from a neighbor that I hope to use as a daily once I get it running. Came to the forum to get some info and ideas. I have some experience with Ford trucks (I also have an 06 F-350) but not this specific platform. I have already figured out a couple issues thanks to help from the forum. Glad to be here!

Wow, I’ve been lurking so much that I didn’t realize that I haven’t posted other than this original post. It needed a fuel pump, which turned into a fuel tank, and then had a bad injector and some wiring issues. Also had to chase down some of the maintenance that goes with a truck sitting for 15 years. With help from many (too many to count) posts across the forums, I finally got it going (with some minor upgrades!) The lurking did help, and as of Friday this ol beater is back on the road.

I’m going to make an effort to be more active, I’ve learned a lot working on this truck, and maybe I can pay it forward to someone who has had similar issues to me. Thanks to everyone!
