Default new guy

hi folks! new here. just got my 2008 f-150 xlt in November. love it. but it doesnt get the gas milage that my '06 got. the only difference is the the '08 has a 5.4 flex fuel and the '06 wasnt and the '08 has 3:55 gears and the '06 had 3:73 gears. the shift points seam to be real close together in the '08 also. anyone have any ideas why?

New here myself,
Picked up my new 2008 f150 supercab last night!!
5.4,3.73's ls,xlt,4x4,6.5 bed, white.
Had to replace my 94 Bronco.

What were you seeing with the '06 and what are you getting with the '08? Are they both 2 or 4 wheel drive? What cab/bed configurations are both trucks?

My 2005 Lariat Supercab shortbed 2wd 5.4 averages about 14.1 combinded city/highway.

i was getting around 16.5 to 17 mpg. combined in the '06 and only 12 to 13 in the '08. both are the super cab with standard bed.

Well assuming that they are both 4wd, I'd say that the '08 is about normal. The reason you are not getting 16-17 with it is that you forgot to tell the angel that was helping your '06 along to follow you to the '08. I have never seen even 16 combined much less 17. That is what I would normally get with mostly highway driving.
