Default New to Ford

Will I've always been a chevy guy and my dad was a chevy guy. Now that GM stands for Government Motors, I've bought my last one! I'm looking at a 2010 f150 4x4 supercrew xlt. What Should I know. I'm a babe in the woods, so be gentle. Is there a real diff between the 4.x litre and 5.x litre engines other than about 2mpg and 2k$ Anyway enlightened folks please chime in. The only thing I have head is that fords are notorius for coils and ball joints. I'm in PA about 45 minutes west of Philly.

BTW it's kinda funny that a silverado banner add is at the top of this post!

Welcome to the forum.
Noticed the banner huh ? Well since chebby had sooo much money after the bail out they decided to sponsor a F150 forum. HaHa
If your gonna really use your truck for hauling or towing I'd get the 5.4.

Default Thanks more info

Well I got a call back and I can get the truck (msrp is 35k) less 3500 rebate, less 1000 for ford finance use (ill pay that off in a month) and since I work for a company that has a deal with ford call the x-plan (sounds cool) with a $2,650, more discound, I get the f150xlt towing package power package for around 28k + taxes. Does this seem on par on what to expect?

Well I can certanly say I shopped around. I decided I could go a bit more and stay in budget and get what I want (color options etc). Well the dealer did not have it on the lot but said he could get it if I paid him 500 to go get it. He also requires a 250 fee for etching the glass he indicated that would help get it back if stolen. I said u mean it would help the insurance co. Anyway I said I'll buy right now if you drop the etching activation fee and the 500. I guess they don't have a problem selling trucks because he said he could not do it. He asked If I would let it go for only 500 and I said yep. So I walked. Have not been able to come close to what I want since but I set my limit and did not go over. Oh well I guess its back to looking for used, I just can't find a dealer that has what I want

Have you looked into ordering one ?
You can get all the options you want and none you don't.
That is how I got my last two. And they were cheaper than the ones on the lot that were close but. Not exactly what I wanted.
Nothing like driving a truck built special for you !
Just a thought.

I would have ordered if I could have, but that would mean a 2011 and could not get the incentives which would have meant losing 3500 bucks Anyway a sales guy who really worked to get me a truck found one that had almost all i wanted except the backup sensors and tow break but they were not got-2-haves anyway. I ended up almost 8k off MSRP. The main point was the other dealership wanted a 500 fetch-it-fee and 250 bucks to activate a security etching which I did not want. This guy worked and he got the sale. I'm flying to Atlanta monday and be gone a week on business but she will be waiting on me Friday when I get home!
