Default Hey everyone

My wife and I are the owner of a new (to us) '87 F-150 that used to be her dads. The truck had sat up since her Dad's health went bad about five years ago, and her mom finally decided to part with the truck just recently. The only reason I decided to undertake the project of getting this thing roadworthy is the history with it, for example her Dad bought this truck on my wifes 19th birthday so her memories of it mean alot to her.

The good, the truck is in pretty good shape cosmetically, no dents and just a bit of rust here and there. The interior is also in really great shape.

The Bad, sitting up for 5 years took its toll on the poor 5.0. I've had to replace both fuel pumps, injectors, press reg, and filter just to get it to fire up. Now the issue is the old beast is running bad rich, it also it feels like the truck is fighting the transmission to move (havn't flushed it out yet till I get the motor straight).

Hope to learn alot from you guys, up till now I have been a die hard Yota guy so getting used to working on a v-8 is a new experience to me heh.

Rob

Make it like your Wife remembers the truck from her 19th B-day. The keep it looking good. That will mean a bunch to her. Good Luck.

I have checked the transmission and it has enough, but needs to be changed. Until I get the motor straightened out, I'll worry about that later heh.

The only picture I have of it yet is the night I got it home because I figured no one would believe me on how I got it there.
