Default Hello, new here.

Hi, name is Nick. I have a 1999 F-150 4.2L auto 2wd 172k miles and rolling. Have owned the truck since new, well dad owned it but I have been driving it for quite some time, but he is signing over the title to me soon. I am in the Coast Guard. I Used to own a 2004 4.6L new body, traded it for a 07 Focus ST, and then traded that for a 06 VW GTI. Somebody pulled out in front of me and totaled the GTI and now I'm back in the truck I started in lol.

Think I covered everything if not ask away. Thanks for looking.

Welcome to the forum, between the 4.2 and the 4.6 engines you have driven and experience, can you relate?

Welcome to the boards!

Glad to hear that everything turned out alright for you. How did you make out with the insurance company?

They paid the GTI off, and I get a settlement. I fracture my foot in the process of this guy hitting me, it took about 3 months to heal completely, being 4 months almost since the crash, I have a new date with the Coast Guard and leave for Basic Training on the 24th of March.

Bill, as much as driving a 4.2L to a 4.6L, the noticable differences are the power and acceleration. Other then that, they from what I can remeber of the 4.6L cause it has been over 2.5years since I have driven one, seem relatively the same drive quality. The 4.6L was definealty alot more torquey. I hope that is what you mean, hehe.
