Default Former GM owner here, Just bought a ford!

Hey all,

Been buying GM all my life and finally switched to Ford. Picked up a beautiful 2012 XLT silver 4x4 chrome package with v8 yesterday. Love it so far, except the mpg I can live with it. My first full size truck. About a hundred miles in and around 16 city/hwy mix. Maybe the engine will break in over time? I got the dealer to throw in 3 free oil changes and a bed liner.

I'll try to post some pictures later. Anyone recommend cold air intake to improve HP and MPG? Or muffler? I'm not going to go crazy on after market parts, but I might get a few things done if beneficial.

Im averaging about 16 in mixed driving with a 4x4 crew with 3.73 gears.
Do you have the 3.73, 3.55 or 3.15 gears in yours?

Drop in bed liner by chance? My advice to you is take it out they are bad news. Get a spray in liner or a DIY kit like duplicolor bed armor.

It is a drop in. I'll look into what you suggested. Thanks!

They cause rust underneath. I took mine out before my truck was even a year old to install my back rack an it was already rusting underneath it

I agree about the drop in type bed liner. Had one in my 1991 Dakota and it wore the paint down to the metal from road vibration. Looked like someone took a power sander to it.
