Default first ford

sup all

well I just picked up my very first ford. I'm gonna admit that I've been a chevy guy since I got my first car 10 years ago. but the 04 F150 was the first model that I really liked. So last night I picked up a used 04 f150 xlt 4x4 with the 5.4 v8

I traded my 98 jimmy sls with 240k kms + $1600 for this f150 with 110k kms

I feel like I got a hell of a deal. only prblem is he hit a dear and the lower bumper (the part that holds the fog lights) is pushed up, but it's not a biggy, I can go to a junker and pick up another one, or buy myself an offroad bumper.

car drives great.

if any of you can suggest what mods that I should or need to do to increase performance, feul economy, or prolong the life of the truck that would be great. I'm gonna browse through the forums and see what I can pick up.

Thanks for reading

ps sorry about my spelling and/or grammer, trying to type this before work starts and I have no time to proof.

Welcome to the boards!

Sounds like you got a good deal on the new truck, post up some pics when you get the chance. There are many ways you can go in modding these trucks. The big 3 for performance are CAI, tuner and exhaust. For CAI I'd suggest the 3" AF1, for tuner any of the SCT tuners with custom tuning from either Troyer or VMP and for exhaust I personally prefer magnaflow systems. Mine is custom bent pipes with a magnaflow muffler, not quite as loud as I would like, but not too bad either.

thanks for the warm welcomes.

so i've had the truck for a weekend now. spent 4 hours cleaning the truck, and it's almost like new. but now I have a question, I notice the my rear suspension has airbags? is that standard on the f150's?

I also notice that my truck doesn't seem to have a muffler, I assume that a muffler should be pretty noticable. should I put in a muffler or just leave the straight pipes.

he is the only picture I could take before my camera ran out of batteries. does my truck look lifted at all? I parked it next to my dad's 07 Ram 1500 and it was a bout 1 inch taller. I thought the ram's were tallest of all the truck (stock of course)
