Just a good foaming carpet cleaner should suffice. What have you been using that is making it lighter?

I use the rug doctor when my in-laws get it lol. Other than that there are some of the car washes around here that have them

im skeptical about any cloth cleaners in my o6 because the seats stain from just water getting on them so when they or if they get bad enough to need a cleaning im going to have them done profesionally

The material they use isn't very good at stain resistance. Like you said, stains from water. The guys in our detail shop have even mention it being difficult to get the material to remain all one color when removing stains.

i just had my 06 screw cleaned and the detail guy told me the same thing. the fabric is suppose to be stain resisant but it is more like stain attractant. i have the tan interior and i have to say it is very frustrating trying to keep it clean. they steam cleaned the fabric but some of the stains just kept returning. if anybody has a solution i would love to hear it.

Default cleaning seats

Try Lava soap. sudsy wet cloth in all directions, then wipe as dry as possible, vacuum a bunch and air dry.
Works for me
