Next time take it to PM then. No need to make a thread bout it and not expect a mod to see it and respond. If you have an issue with a particular mod you need to take it up with them or the forum admin, we are not above the rules either and should act accordingly. Not to sound like a broken record but this is why we have a report feature, it sends a report to the staff section where its visible to all the staff here, not just the mod you are accusing of turning a blind eye.

This is what I like to hear.... Glad you said that... Maybe others will take your lead and view points...
7. THE ROLE OF MODERATORS
Moderators are an important part of F150 Forum. Moderators are established members who have exhibited a knowledge and adherence to the forum rules and attempt to keep F150 Forum civil
In response to that.... (Raider is not mod material..being honest..)
I am allowed to post what I want in "Off Topic" correct? Isn't that what it's for?Why would I have to keep this post away from the rest of the members in a private PM?? I'm sure some would like to know also...

Just because you don't know "Formal Warnings" have been PMed to offending Member's, doesn't mean they didn't receive one.
We do rely & appreciate "reported" post's & lastly, none of the Mod's like following the "Talk about anything you want" Thread. It's tediously boring the majority of the time.
We're now averaging almost 4K member visit's/ day. A lot of post's to cover for 5 part time Mods.

Wow... ok, let me do a little clarifying for the two that are feeding the fire that was this thread (thanks, Mike).
I'm going to make this as crystal clear as I can.
That "Talk about anything you want" thread has been a GIANT pain in our asses since it was created back in 6/10. I've done a quick search of our reported post section (in the staff area that registered members CANT see [so honestly nobody has any grounds to say what we do or don't do since as pointed out, you can't see our logs]) and what I've found is that since its inception, there's been 74 posts reported alone and subsequently removed... not counting the ones removed just for their content that was not reported but found while researching other reported posts. There's been 7 temporary bans handed out from this thread for numerous repeat infractions. There's also been 2 permanent bans doled out.
For those that think we should have a mod in there on a lifeguard rack, lets not forget the new rule that we recently instated on classified ad postings. That rule has kept everyone busy. The mods closing and trashing posts like they get paid to do it, and me responding to all the "hate mail" that comes after a member has his college thesis trashed for not reading the rules prior to posting it.
I've created two threads in the last year or so informing all users of this site that its just as much their responsibility to report content that falls outside the stated guidelines of this forum as it is ours to research and remove them. We do cruise the forum to find things that are questionable or over the line, but there's currently 12,xxx active users. That means that they've logged in within the last 30 days. There's 7 mods... and me. To jump in front of your next question, No. We don't need more staff... yet. We're busy but not too busy.
So, you now ask "Why do you keep that thread around?". Well its complicated. See... its been closed and/or trashed two or three times since its inception and each time we get flooded with responses to our inboxes to bring it back, it was the best thing going in the OT section, etc. So we gave in (notice I used past tense there). Each time it was brought back it stayed on the straightened arrow for a few days and then guess what happens! New email to me! "Reported post from xx member. Section: Off Topic, Thread: "The Unofficial talk about anything you want" thread". So we'd go in and remove not only that one post, but all of the posts by lemmings that followed suit and posted things outside guidelines because one ***-hat did. Its a mess.
Now the reason I used past tense in most of the above paragraph. Well I trashed it. I got rid of it because frankly I'm tired of it... and I can. Two good reasons in my book.
Addressing Raider as a mod- she's very well qualified to be a mod. She's not stuffy and stuck up like I am and some mods can be, so you obviously view that as "not mod material". Everybody on current staff discuss and nominate members based off post history (reported post content as well as removed posts) and tenure. Once they meet those criteria, we watch them for a little while. Actually, I'd like to know what grounds people have to think that she's NOT qualified? Cussing in a couple posts? Ok... then what? So, continuing on with the process that she's not qualified for. Once we follow them, we give the names of the "finalists" so to speak- to the owners of the site. They do their own research and determine who to pick. Since the site has changed hands recently, this process is a little different but its still essentially the same.
If you have any more questions about why we do what we do or anything of the sort, please feel free to PM me. This is an open forum and nothing's private. Well, mostly nothing. If you have any public criticism to make about the site or my staff, keep it to yourself. Actually, scratch that. I invite you to post a separate thread about it in the OT section or the General section and I won't even respond right away. The responses you get from our seasoned members (not staff) that've been to other sites will speak for itself. I'll help you dry you tears afterward, if you'd like.

No trap. As I said before, everyone's entitled to express opinions. Don't be mad when you're shown how its wrong or misguided though.
Sometimes we take opinions as options and use them to the forums advantage. Please, express away.

Tisk tisk... Now my feelings are hurt... Not.
Thanks Lenn. I do admit I have a sailor's mouth, even in real life outside of the Internet. I will try and clean up the act. Other than that, what are my flaws specifically? There is no turning a blind eye... I simply, like all other mods, cannot keep up with EVERY post... Members are warned when I do in fact see 'wrong doing'.
And Sean, because I am female? Really? I expected more out of you...
