Your explanation "The site has issues with this because of cheap advertising subcontractors" is spot on in my opinion. The fact that IB won't remedy the problem is a clear indication of their interest in maximizing revenue regardless of the satisfaction of forum users.

I wonder if it's happening on their many other sites?
Yes, it is. The Hull Truth has the EXACT same problem.

Just got this while viewing using the mobile site. Run Malwarebytes on the phone and don't view potential bad sites.

I'm bringing this back. Sorry to bump it up if not neccisary.

So I get this from time to time, really only bothers me on forums as I can't back out no matter how many times I back out, and if I've scrolled through 2 pages it takes me a good minute to find my spot again.

First fix I found was just hitting history and going back to where I was (its crazy that there are 3-7 'popups' that redirect my browser).

What seems to have actually fixed it was go into my setting on browser app (chrome) and delete all cached data and cookies.

Last resort, if neither of these work, a small workaround to at least get you back around the same page and save data is to just every so often look at whatever page your on, and go to url and enter it, so your not trying to reload 20 pages worth of pictures on your data providers dime.

There’s a very in depth thread on the popups called “ads taking over” and I’m asking everyone to screenshot the popups they’re getting and we are blocking them individually as they appear. A permanent solution is being worked on but it exists on a HUGE plane on Google’s Adsense network of partners.

As for your ability to get to the last post in a thread- in the mobile browser if you click the thread title, it takes you to the first post in the thread. If you click the little “Notifications- none” (or whatever it says for your setup) under the thread title, it’ll take you to the last post in the thread.

Ok, Lenn, it stopped for awhile, now i see that inappropriate ads are back again- i really thought this was addressed- i am sad to see it is obviously not. I enjoy this forum, and i really dont want to leave, but these ads are revolting to me.- a non-ad, paid app through the app store would be a fix- but it seems the powers that be could care less about their readers.
This is strike two-
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation-
Bear.
Oh, happy birthday, Lenn!

The forum is completely unusable today for Android mobile, as is Corvette forum; both are Internet Brands sites. I have uploaded the Chrome beta spam blocker and have spyware and ad blocker apps installed. The recent round of popups started 2 days ago. The management on Corvette forum evidently found the offenders overnight as I had no popups yesterday. Out of the 3 dozen or so sites I frequent on a daily basis, only the 2 IB sites have ever had a problem with popups.

I made one simple change a couple months ago and still to this day have had 0 pop ups. I simply downloaded the browser app in the google play store called "Free Adblocker Browser - Adblock & Popup Blocker" it has worked flawlessly. 0 ads on Android mobile.
