I tried garage talk for awhile but it was frustrating for me. I don't remember getting the above screen shot.

Is the above shot something within my cell or is it this site?...Keep in mind I'm from the crayon age & not to computer savvy-->

 

It's hard to say. The site has issues with this because of cheap advertising subcontractors. We've made IB aware of it, but the fact that the redirect ads remain signals they either haven't gotten the message or they don't care. The app shouldn't have that problem, though. What's odd is you said you get the problem every day. I don't think all users have that issue. Does this happen to you on any other sites?

 

Only this site. Once only per day. I have to hit my home button then Gmail and everything is OK from that point on...It's frustrating but not the kind of thing that I can't deal with.

 

Are you using a tabbed browser?

 

Ok, yer gonna embarrass me...I'm using on my cell whatever came with my iPhone 6+...IOS?

On my home computer, it's Chrome, is that what ya mean?

 

A browser with tabs, i.e. one that can have multiple pages open at the same time. If you're using the stock browser, it's probably Safari. Chrome is a tabbed browser. All the separate pages are in tabs up at the top. I'm asking because I'm wondering if the ad is automatically forwarding the forum page to the ad or if it's a popup opening a new tab in the browser.

 

I get it now! I'm using Safari on my cell & Chrome at home.

 

It is NOT a popup. It comes up in place of the forum. I have it happen on my computer (Windows 10, Chrome), and on my Android tablet and phone (also Chrome). It comes up on the desktop site and the mobile site.

I extensively use the internet, visiting dozens of sites a day, and this is the ONLY one this happens on. Your explanation "The site has issues with this because of cheap advertising subcontractors" is spot on in my opinion. The fact that IB won't remedy the problem is a clear indication of their interest in maximizing revenue regardless of the satisfaction of forum users.

I wonder if it's happening on their many other sites?

 

One person, one problem. Let me stick to HuskerHarley's issue before others all jump in in the middle of the troubleshooting.
