Tint turns purple if you use alcohol based cleaner on it. Shop installed or self installed from Walmart. So, throw your Windex out if you have your tints because you're gonna fock it up.
As for bubbles, its all in the application. Have to soak the film and apply it to a wet window, then use a squeegee to remove the excess water from beneath the film once it is cut to size. The more time you spend on the application, the better its going to come out.
I used to work in a shop that did tinting, and i can tell you that there is basically zero difference between what they are installing and what you can get from any store with an auto shop. The price comes from installation, not the equipment.

I just had 20% put on rears and strip on front with 35% on fronts for around $200 for a 2010 super cab. The 35% is good on the sides. It cooled the temps cosiderably in the cab! I love it and it may look darker because I have the sterling siver paint, but it looks plenty dark!

Window Tint %
I got 35% all the way round but I suggest that before deciding on the % that you check first the current tint law limits in your state. Check it here www.TintBuyer.com. They provide relevant information about window tints such as its types, quotations and will help you find the best professional tinter near your area.
