The trailer weighs 8,000lbs empty so around 9,000 totally loaded. We normally only go 100 miles one way but you never know with my wife if we are going to who knows where at a blink of an eye. A F250 is a waist cause I drive a lot without pulling anything. I guess just worried what will happen when I get to the 100,000 mile mark or more.

You just described everything a 5.0 will get you. Better economy as well and long lasting, I don't see turbo's lasting 100,000 miles in the best of scenario's.

If you call 1 mpg better mileage then you are right. But 1 mpg is nothing.

Sorry I'm allergic to bull ****. In order to get the better tow ratings requires more fuel to mix with all that forced air.

So far it's a proven fact the v8 gets better economy and in the best conditions is only bested by maybe 1-2 mpg.

But the 5.0 will also see the same power loss when towing thay the op has with the 5.4...

The eco is ONLY 5hp more than the v8, if he was pulling trailers all the time I would agree, but the occasional towing the 5.0 is the best.
