Sounds like you have more of an issue with a Ford dealer rather than Ford. I would take it to another dealer. How do they know it needs to be replaced without taking it out?

I'm trying to understand what duct would be going into the engine compartment. Fresh air is ducted from behind the windshield, there are heater lines and A/C supply and return lines coming from the engine, compressor, and condensor. Lastly, there is a condensate line which usually goes out the firewall and straight down to the ground.

So i called Ford customer care to complain because they wanted 1K$ to fix it.( I asked how hard it would be to fix and the tech said forget it.. you have to pull the whole dash out and drop the heat coil ect.. And it was a job thats why it's 1K$ to fix it.) But Ford basicly said oh well.. and if you dont have all your maintence records we wont even talk about it. So i'm pretty pissed i spent 40K on this truck in 07 when i got back from Afgan. And it's already falling apart at 3 3/4 year old. On top of that they charged me 100$ to take it in for the waranty work. And my 5.4 sounds like a power stroker, Which i complained about. It just started doing that and they said it's fine. So i'm just kinda stuck. So ford at this point for me can just shove it.. i'm going to get a GMC! And buddy if they were the best trucks every mine wouldnt be fallen apart and ford would at lest back there product which in my clase they clearly didn't!

That right there explains what your problem is, it's not Ford's fault, it's the warranty company that is denying the claim. You are under an extended warranty at this point. Again, not Fords fault, the 3 year 36k warranty has already expired.

if you dont get your maintence done at a ford dealership and you didnt buy a ford esp warranty what kind of help are you wanting from ford the reason they ask for service records is to see if you are spending any money with ford other than purchase working for a dealer you can get alot more help from you dealer if you go there and spend some money with them than cheaping out on servcie work and ext warranties sometimes it helps to spend a little more it always ticks me off when people bash a company that after they buy the product you never see them again until they think ford owes them something because it breaks go to another brand cheap out with them and in 3 more years go on there forum and talk about how crappy they are sorry you feel this way about fords as they are the best product out there

If you don't have maintenance records, you screwed yourself. This is NOT Ford's fault. It isn't the dealer's fault. It is YOUR fault.

Do your homework first. It's not like GM has never denied warranty work.

I understand your frustration with the "duct problem" but know that all things mechanical and manmade are prone to failure at some point. It is inevitable. If you are unwilling to take it to another shop for a second opinion then you deserve to be bent over the barrel. The 100 bucks you paid was a deductable on your third party warranty, why would you expect Ford to eat the cost of whatever the third party claims adjuster is going to deny? You strike me as someone who is looking for a handout. Life sucks, get a helmet.

Good luck.
