Default Trans problem

I'm sure this has been asked 1000 times but...

95 f150 v6 4x4 5 speed manual
I believe it has the m5od trans
I just got it and trying to fix it up but to start when you move the shifter it absolutely will not go into 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th at all none notta zero if I smack it over I can get it into 5th and reverse pretty easy and the clutch works I can move it in those gears but I want to drive it daily so what do I need to look into to get my other 4 gears back

my guess is shift forks but I'm new to ford's and want to make sure I have already found the access Plate in the cab to get to the top case for the forks but I didn't know if it might be something else like the shifter itself

thanks in advance

Is the problem with the engine running or just any time? Have you checked the fluid level?

I think you meant nada not notta.

You forgot to add a period to one of your sentences.

How can you prove the clutch works?
You go on to say that you can move it in those gears but want to drive it daily. Are you trying to say that you SOMETIMES are unable to get it into gear?

I can put it into 5th or reverse and using the clutch I can back it up no issue with the clutch same if I put it into 5th gear I can get it to move (not great since it's a high gear but none the less the clutch does its job engage and disengage)

Might be something as simple as shifter bushings. Not getting full travel from the shift lever. Popping the top cover off should show something. You might find it when you remove the shifter.

This video is informative -

Don't ignore the possible hydrauic issues that effect the M5OD. This is based on a Ranger that had the same set-up. Be sure the clutch fluid is full. The system may need to be bled for air and that can be a little bit hard to finally accomplish. In other words, it's might not be the obvious with this clutch set-up.

My Ranger had similar issues. The only real problem I ever had with that little truck. It was mated to the 4.0 V-6.

clutch is bleed and fine it's more of a shifter movement issue like the only time the shifter will move like it should is 5th to reverse any other movement is jammed/blocked/it won't move in any direction other then 5th to reverse

You can get the top cover off really easily (I think, I've only done them in the wrecking yards) and take a look. It's just a bunch of screws and bolts that you have to remove then it lifts off. Take the shifter off, see what you see, then keep going if you need to. Sounds like something is worn or broken. It will probably be obvious.
