When I had my '95 with 5 speed I had this same issue. It was the clutch slave cylinder. It had to be replaced twice in 60k miles.

The problem is the transmission has to be pulled back to replace it so it's quite a job.

Be sure to check and remove the black rubber cover on the slave cylinder when you add fluid. I didn't know (my 1991) it had a rubber cover after you remove the fill cap until I read about it on this F150 forum . My fluid level was still good after removing the black rubber cover, I got lucky

That video was very informative...but can't help thinking it's gonna take all afternoon & a whole bunch of 6-paks to fix the exhaust leak !!

If the forks aren't cracked and the shifter isn't sloppy, not being able to put it into gear is going to be bad synchros.

One suddenly going from shifting fine to not is almost always a broken fork.

Can you trust the previous owner? I'm betting he already had issues with the gears on one of the forks, and "suddenly" lost the others when the second fork broke.
