Just get a little commuter car. I picked up a 1996 civic hatchback for a grand that get 38-40 mpg. The savings difference will have it paid for in ten months or less. Best of both worlds. Good mileage and still have the truck.

If it were me I would run the truck and live with the fuel economy unless you can"t afford the price of gas. When i got my truck a few months back i used to cringe at filling from empty to full for $175 that ill burn in 8 days. But every time i go and sit in a small car or small truck i realize i won't drive anything other than my truck.

A quick tip, don't let your tank get below 1/2 so it won't hurt as much or do what i do just put a $100 in every week.

I just traded my 99 B2500 in for my F150. The B was only getting 18mpg, and it had a 4cyl and only weighed 3k lbs. A smaller pickup doesn't always mean better mileage, it does mean WAY less truck though.

And I thought my $70-$80 bill was bad!

But then again I only make about 175 a week

That little Ford pickup and the Suzuki would be awesome if they had little 3 cylinder diesel motors.

They'd also get 30-40 mpg if set up correctly.

Cheap commuter car is definately the way to go. Get a 1,000 dollar beater or less, drive it till the wheels fall off, and repeat. Keep the nice truck, and love the mileage of the POS you won't care about so you can have fun with it

Trade her for an Ecoboost. Or save up and buy an older Jetta TDI! Not a fan of little cars, but those things are pretty damn sweet

Get a tuner and run the eco mode. You'll gain a few mpg's and some power.
