In my opinion that is repairable. Just find a good body shop. That will make all the difference...

Hard to tell from the pics, but that airbag deployment is a biggie.

I troll IAAI auctions sites regularly for work and see trucks with less damage but a deployed airbag that have been totaled. If the passenger airbag is blown, chances go up substantially.

The damage does not appear to be 80% damaged. I would bet they will want to fix it. Let them fix it and if you no longer want it, trade it on a new one. Be sure to take it to a different dealership. I wouldn't tell the other dealer anything about the repairs either.

Many insurance companies are using 60% of ACV as a guideline. Its all just guesswork on our parts, though....

I'd be interested to see the outcome, though.

Glad to hear everyone is okay.

Had an accident back in 2006, where they replaced the frame and all ($16.5K) and didn't total it. Then again, it was a weird ordeal.

In my opinion, which is not expert, is it's totalled. If they do fix it, I'd look at swapping it out sooner than later. That is unless you trust all the work completed to restore it.

Remind me never to buy a car from you. Then again, State Farm got caught doing the same thing, so i guess it's OK.

The adjuster looked at it today and said from what he could see cost to fix it was around 9500. He said it would take around 14,000 to total but he couldnt get the hood open to see what was damaged under the hood. he wants to take it to a local body shop and let them open the hood and get a quote from them i guess! So we'll see tomorrow ! I have heard really good things about this shop so im at least happy where its going. Either way things could be worse. I could have been paying for it myself if i hadnt had full coverage.I'll keep you posted . Thanks for the opinions

I'm curious, I've never had experience with being struck by an uninsured motorist (thankfully), but what happens to the uninsured guy? Was he caught? Does he face any serious repercussions outside the DWI?

At the very least, do you get to break his hip?

Wow that sucks, man. Looks like a close call on being totaled. Good luck with everything, hope it goes your way.
