2005 F150 Lariat, leather seats..
Drivers lower is still in good condition, but was wondering if it is possible to swap the lower cushion with the right cushion?

thanks, Bill

Seems these are location specific to driver or to passenger as listed on e-bay.

yeah, every thing I am finding is L or R...without taking these out and comparing, who knows whether it is just a wiring harness thing, or something simple that can be swapped from the seat bottom.... wish we still lived in an era of junk yards every other mile
was hoping to find a soul who was as cheap as me and tried it

thanks for the response

Bill

09/27/2021 – 186,000 miles. Using parts purchased on e-bay, replaced driver’s seat cushion and cover. Went well but neither cushion nor seat were exact matches. Cover did not have all the attachment points that original had. Cushion did not contain the reinforcement rod that the original employed that had two hog rings tied to it on the bottom cushion. It’s now installed and we will see how it goes.

· Cushion, Fit For 04-08 Ford F150 Lariat Cab Front Driver Side Bottom Foam Seat Cushion, $52.65 seller-gplusmotor

· Cover, For 04-08 Ford F150 Crew / Extended Cab Gray Driver Side Bottom Cloth Seat Cover $46.85, seller-autumnharvest
Seat and cover have now been in place for 5 months with no issues

Jimboy,

quick question, I am interested in swapping the whole seat bottom assembly on mine, did you have to remove the seat to get the covers on, if so, did it look like the whole bottoms could be swapped?

thanks, Bill

My recollection is that I had looked into just swapping drivers to passengers and based on what I saw online they do not interchange (I am not positive about this) and that is why I did a driver's side replacement. A far as I remember the seat cushion unbolts from the seat and no you don't need to remove the seat from the truck to change the cushion

Great, now you have given me just enough rope to pull both bottoms out to see if I hang myself. I hold you responsible for any stupidity on my part when I tear into my truck seats

thanks for the quick response

Empty 5 gallon buckets will work as seats and I am 100% positive they will interchange between passenger and drivers side.

Hi, all. My front leather seat cushions are still in pretty good shape, but the driver side is beginning to have noticeable cracking along the left side which is usually a forerunner to failure and I would like to be proactive and avoid that. Both left and right seats are electrically operated so wiring should not (hopefully) be a problem. If I can swap the cushions then the cracking on the (current) drivers seat won't show and all should be good. If they aren't too difficult to remove (just the cushions) then it would definitely be worth the effort to give it a try. Has anyone out there actually made the swap successfully? If not, what happened that prevented success?
Thanks,
Deke M
