I always pass that guy driving along slowly in the passing lane like you were doing. Especially at the merge so I don't get stuck behind you for the next 10 miles. Walk softly and carry a big stick. Make sense? I had a guy cut into me in the slow lane a few weeks back. Almost hit me in an attempt to make me let him in. Then he realized there were two turning lanes and he did not even need to switch lanes. Up ahead he races past a truck then swings over three lanes to get in front of me in the slow lane. Once he is in front of me he brakes to make me slow down. I slow way down because I would rather be the one watching where he goes rather then him following me home. I see through his ghetto tinted window his hand go up in a pistol gesture. Then he gets tired of me doing 35 in a 40mph and swings back across to the fast lane and speeds off. In any case I don't feel like I did anything wrong and I think he did but why the heck am I going to argue with a nut? All the people watching who just think two nuts were at it again. Not worth it.

I get it.....thing is... I wasn't rolling slow. Speed limit was 40, I'm doing like 43mph....I guess the MacGyver move was necessary?

Over here on the East Coast 43 in a 40 is SLOW. Just assume the man was in a rush to poop and relax next time. It will be better for your wife's stress.

I remember one Christmas back in the 80's my parents, my sisters and me were all loaded up in the wagon driving from Southern Vermont to Northern Vermont for dinner at my aunts. Bit of bad weather had hit like it often does up that way. Roads were a little snowy/icy. A red Porsche with NY tags speeds past like a bat out of hell. Must have been doing 100 in 55mph. My parents were like 'what a jerk'. I was like 'so cool' since I was about 12 years old and did not see many red Porsches in Vermont. Half hour later we pass a red Porsche on its roof with police and fire all around. The important thing in life to remember is the bigger picture. And nowadays people in Vermont drive Subaru's not Porsches.

everyone needs to remember a few things here ... not just when driving, but about life in general:

1. The world is FULL of idiots, and there's no way to fix that
2. Doing anything that causes more problems for yourself - even if you think its fixing something else in the process - is only causing more problems for yourself.
3. Schitt Happens ... deal with it.

If all of us had a little more patience and understanding ... and took a deep breath and counted to 10 before acting out of rage or emotion ... the world would be a MUCH better place instantly.

That is exactly the point I was trying to make. Unfortunately it just emboldens a lot of people to be more confrontational then they would otherwise be.
