I have 3 buttons + the “switchblade” key.

I grabbed the dealer/factory security code from behind my passenger side fuse box in order to reset the door panel keypad.

Also, you don't have to get the switchblade remote if you don't want the keyless options. The 164-R1828 keyblade will work, if programmed, to start the truck. Just know if the truck is locked and you use the key to manually unlock the door lock rather than the door keypad that you may need to start the truck or it will trigger the alarm.

Yup. If you don't want another and the extra cost, the 164-R1828 keyblade (no fob) will work once you have it cut and programmed.

Like I said, the problem will be that you currently only have one key. You need to have two keys to enter programming mode, but some scanners may may able to bypass that with the timeout option. Some locksmiths may try and just duplicate your one key's code, rather than actually properly program it, meaning you may end up with two keys but only one key to the security system. Thus still not able to program keys yourself in the future.
