Which engine would fit in my 2001 F150 with no problems
My head gasket is on the way out on my project truck it’s a 2001 F150 4.6L 2wd. I’ve been looking locally and they don’t have any 2001 4.6Ls around me. What would be the best bet to swap in either another 4.6 or maybe a 5.4 without have to really do any type of rewiring?

2000-2003 4.6 should work fine.
A like-year 5.4 can be swapped, but if I’m going that far, I’m also swapping in a 9.75” rear axle. The 4.6 has an 8.8” out back.
I think there are 5.4 swap notes in the 97-03 forum if you explore that idea.
