not possible to ALWAYS obey the law.In my case a radar detector is NOT used as a way to allow me to break the law.As I said earlier,it is my forgiveness to myself for those times I make a mistake or a speed trap is set up at the bottom of a hill hoping to catch you coasting over the limit.
If you want to take the chance you WON'T break the law inadvertently,go ahead. I will 90% of the time get a warning beep to allow myself a correction without COURT action.
I've driven over a million miles,gotten tickets for speeding slightly over the limit.I decided to even the odds against speed traps.Costs me about 100 dollars every 6yrs. or so.
The great thing about the majority of States in this country is you have a choice to identify surveillances like radar and speed traps.

I don't speed either, maybe 10 mph over barely, I just like to have a warning of there is a cop or speed trap
