Default [Question] 32" or 33" Tires for '18 F150

Hi I ordered my 2018 F150 Lariat today and it finally came in and I am loving it. The first thing I want to do to it is to put new wheels and tires. I plan on getting Fuel Sledge 20x10 on there but I am undecided on tires. I have the stock gear ratio 3.15 with the 2.7L Ecoboost 4x2.

I would like to get the 33" tires but I read a few forums where people say the 32" will ride better than the 33" with the gear ratio I have.

Any advice or recommendations?

Thank you everyone in advance

The Stock size is almost 32 (31.9) so you can go from there.

Assuming the previous post is accurate you already have 32" tires for all practical purposes. Going to 33's just ain't that big of a jump. It isn't about the ride quality, but if you go bigger you effectively change the gear ratio and you have less power to pull loads or even maintain speeds on inclines. I doubt there will be much difference with only 1" difference.

I also don't think you'll ever notice any difference in the looks of the truck for 1" more tire. I'd not take perfectly good tires off and replace them for such a small gain. When they are worn out I might make the move then.

This is a good website to use to plug in various tire sizes and get a visual as to how they look. You can also see how the changes effect the speedometer and gear ratios. Click on gear ratio calculator for that info.

The Optional 20's are 275/55 20 which are 31.9, I have 305/50 20 on my 13 and they are a true 32.

Oh sorry. I didn't get the optional upgrade of the wheels and tires. I wanted to go aftermarket with them. So going from 30.5 to 32" or 33" won't make much of a difference?

I believe that the 2WD trucks have a factory tire ABOUT 30.5 OD and the 4WD trucks have a factory tire ABOUT 32 OD independent of wheel size. This is since the 6 lug F150 wheels which began with MY 2004.

The 4WD has slightly more suspension clearance.

So back to my original question. Will going to the 33" be a good move for my 2WD 3.15 Gear ratio 2.7L Eco?

Short answer, no. That's MY opinion. Slightly lower acceleration, slightly poorer fuel economy, higher center of gravity for poorer handling, higher off the ground making it harder for a short person to enter and exit.

HOWEVER, with the required lift for clearance, many think it will look better with that and the larger tires. Oh, and your speedometer and odometer will be off by about 6% assuming 32.5" for an average of the 2 sizes you mention.

Be sure to post before and after pictures!
