Problem with Sync

sync was not an option on my truck ( 2011 F 150 XLT XTR 4x4 super crew ) I do have the phone button on the radio and steering wheel. All the buttons are there for it. But Ford dealer says its just generic and can't be hooked up. Is there a way to hook it up. Thanks I would appreciate any help .

I was able to look up your VIN too. The PHONE button on your vehicle mutes audio. SYNC is not available as an aftermarket installation.
