Tire size opinion
Hi all. I will be replacing tires on my 2004 SCrew RWD. Current tires are Cooper Discoverer H/T size 275/60/20. The tires look good, and I like the stance, but I already have the 3.55 gears and the 275/60/20 is 4% oversize. I'd like to reduce tire height and recover some torque. I have decided to go with the same brand/model tire, so that's not my question. (Wish I could afford the Zeons, but that's another $100+ per tire).
I believe the rims are 9" wide. Definitely not 10s. So-which size and why?
A-305/50/20 (1.3% larger circumference than stock)
B-275/55/20 (1.0% larger circumference than stock)

I run the Copper Discoverer HT plus in a 285/50/20 and love them. I have a 2007 Screw 2wd and with my Gryphon tuner, true dual exhaust and Gotts mod with AEM dryflow, I get 18 mpg's. I average 55-60 mph on my 20 mile 1 way commute.
It's just a 2% difference smaller in size, or 1.3 mph slower speedo reading ( compared to a 275/55/20), but for the extra width, I love them.
