Yeah i got all his info plus the plates on the rental rv. I figured if he tries to sneak out i can take it up with the rental company

Almost the same thing happened to me, back in the summer i was on a narrow back road and a small car was riding the yellow line so as the OP did i stood my ground mainly because i'm probably 3' wider then the car is. So luckily he didn't want to play chicken with a 6,000 lb truck but even with him moved over and me riding on the yellow line i missed a mail box by inches.

The problem is unless there is a mark or damage to the rv Rental, you will never recover anything. It's like writing down the license plate and the name of the dump truck that drops rocks out and cracks your windshield. And it's not worth putting it through your insurance with a deductiBle.
See if they pay, if they don't. It's a learning experience for you (get smaller mirrors).

I often clinch my buttocks when on some two lane roads because so many people can not drive. Hope the guy sends the money.

I was down in Baja a few years ago by San Quintin. South of town there is a series of dips in the road. Came up on an F-150 with a missing mirror. Down in the dip there were two mirrors laying in the middle of the road. Came out of the dip to see another F-150 with a missing mirror.

Both drivers were standing around like they just didn't know what happened.

Back in the day with HEMTTS driving ***** to the wall two ways on a 1 3/4 lane path, mirrors flew off so often I think the motor pools just started taking them off the drivers side ahead of time.

I was pleasantly surprised when my electronic dumbo ear mirror got hit by an opposing truck going 25-30 mph and nothing more than a scuff mark you have to squint to see was the result.

You guys got out of it pretty easy. Coming home from work riding in a mid 90s crewcab dually gmc we slapped mirrors with a suburban. Both of us going 60mph. Of course it was a nice day so all the windows were down. The dickhole crosses the line and there is nowhere for my foreman to go except in the gravel which would have ended much worse. So all the sudden, WHAM, and there is glass everywhere. I'm sitting directly behind the driver and end up bleeding from my head and shoulder from the glass and a blindspot mirror that made it back to me.. My foreman took a really hard hit from that blindspot mirror before it made it back to me. He's bleeding pretty good out of the side of his head. All four of us in the truck were hit with the glass. Keep in mind that this was one of those like 12" tall metal mirrors.
And if course the other guy kept going. Not for far though. Cops caught up to him a few miles down the road. Pulled him over and threw the book at him. Of course he had two really young kids in the car and his wife while he decided to hit and run.

Report this to the other Driver's insurance asap. The marks your mirrow left on that rv are easily cleaned. Make your cliaim asap so maybe the rental shop wont have time to fix it. As in making evidence disappear.
