Exactly. I personally rather save the $17 price difference on the exact same oil in a 5 gal jug. I was at my local advanc auto parts the other day and a 5 gal jug of m1 was almost $40. The exact same thing is at Wally world right now for $22.95. The motorcraft filter was also about $2 cheaper.

So, let the others spend that extra $20 for their principle. Ill keep the extra $20 in my pocket for a nice bottle of Jack.

Clearly that one thing you don't know about walmart, its the tactics they use to achieve these low prices. Don't for a second think that those arrogant *******s take money out of their pocket to provide you with rollbacks. They take the money out of the pockets of the companies that make them. They force them to reduce their prices for which the sell their products to walmart (don't forget that all perishable items have a granteed sale).
I know for a FACT that walmart attempted to get lower prices from a bakery owner here. Walmart was already making MORE money then he was producing the bread items, yet they still wanted a larger discount to the point where he would be making NEGATIVE profit.

Not to mention they fact that 80% of the things they sell are of HORRID quality and wouldn't even meet the standards of a third world nation. If you think that their products that they sell are of premium quality you need to shop else where and see.

So if you want to support a company that puts profits ahead of all else, including product quality and its longevity and customer care/customer service go ahead.

Nobody forces anyone to sell their product to WalMart. If you can't make a profit from them don't sell to them.

They don't force you, they accept your products, wait a short while, then demand discounts while you have 40 grand of merchandise in their stores across the province.

Edit: and let me rephrase my previous comment so that their is no misunderstanding. He WAS making a profit on every product sold, it was just that walmart was making more then he was, no problem in that. They then wanted more of a discount to the point where he would loose money on every bread product he sold to them.

I worked at Wal-Mart and I know first hand that they don't use their profits the way they should. My point is its the exact same product and people speak as if its not.

You didn't rephrase anything, you said the same thing. So I will say the same thing, don't sell your products to WalMart.

No, I just cleared the statement up just in case it wasn't understood. And it is not my business but a local business owners here. He doesn't "sell" his bread products to them, its a guaranteed sale. Meaning that if someone buys the product from walmart (or any other chain of supermarkets) the chain automatically gets its profit and shares with the business owner. If it does not sell and expires the business takes the loss and the owner has to remove it at their own cost from the chain.

So when product gets shipped and a short time later walmart demands hefty discount you can see how this can be an issue. This is what I was told.

It's business ethics and standards. No other large chain, mom and pop store tried to pull this on them in over 10 years of business.

Changed my oil in my 96 7.3 yesterday. To the dislike of some here I purchased Delo 400 11.97 a gallon. But I looked for the supertech filters some people talked about on this tread. Non, zilch, nada, no shelf full of supertech filters. Are they gone at your walmart? Perhaps Walmart asked the vendor to cut the price where it would not be profitable as suggested here, who knows.
