Black anodized diamond plate would be sweet.

I installed a OEM tailgate protector. It adds about a half inch onto the tailgate and makes sliding stuff in and out of the bed easier without getting hung up on the plastic trim on top of the tailgate.

going to build one they quoted me 147$ for the plastic garbage one from ford. I told the guy they were crazy his only response was that it came with the push button. I know I can get cheaper from internet but just going to build a nice one.

I just installed this. It's perfect. Easy to install, no rattles, can use with a trailer attached, in my opinion much better than the OEM options.

Here is my first prototype. 60$ worth of diamond plate and I can build 6 more to come up with the perfect design. Don’t have the button drilled out yet.

what you can’t see is the screws aren’t flush, the firmest is a little off more grinding needed and the step release isn’t there. I drillled a small hole so you could push a ballpoint pen in and release the step not ideal but functions.
