I have the integrated step on my new 2020 and wish I didn't. I won't use it and think it makes the tailgate heavier. I'm also worried that over time it could start to rattle. I just wish it didn't come with it.

Easy enough to get rid of !
Advertise that you want to trade for a non-step tailgate in the same color......
Your phone should ring of the hook !

I traded in a 2020 Sierra with the multi pro tailgate on my 2020 F150. That tail gate is one of the few things I really do miss about the GMC. That was very nice to have!

46lbs.

Doubt you're going to every notice a tailgate rattle unless you're driving in an audio damped room. My small utility trailer used to drive me nut ratting against the ball with my Escape. In the F150, can't hear it even though the draw bar pin holes got more play.

If it ever does become audible, a strip of cheap foam tape is the answer.

I love the built-in step in mine, it makes it easy to get up in and out again. That said, GM currently has the better solution. Their multi-function tailgate is superior to the F-150 version. This is an area I hope to see Ford improve soon!

It doesn't come with it, it's a $375 option... You could have bought one without it, or as noted easily trade for one without it and make some money.

I have it as well, super heavy tailgate compared to one without. Since my dad bought an aftermarket Amp (i think) one at the corner of his rear bumper I like that better. Doesn't look as clean but it is as functional and waaaay lighter (if that matters to you payload wise).

Disagree. Many people leave the hitch in and drop the step. Denting the tailgate. I've repaired probably 7 this year from that. Most people say, well I'm not that stupid. Until they do it themselves

The cost of this style gate greatly increases repair cost in a rear end collision. Wouldn't be surprised if in the near future as these trucks get up there in mile. That people will swap to a standard gate to avoid totaling the vehicle

The step adds less than 50lbs to the tailgate, I seriously doubt that will make a difference to most when it comes to payload.

GMs multipro tailgate has more moving parts than I need/want. All I need is a normal tailgate with a step.
