new ram
Reminds me of when I was in school in the late 70's or early 80's when Ford came out with their Fairmont. The place where my father worked had a stock, bare bones, no frills version of the station wagon for moving parts from one warehouse to another. They had the 302 under the hood and that car was FAST!!
The 3.5v6 that Ford is working on is a 400+ hp motor. The 6.2 will be built on the same format. I would rather have reliablity than horsepower. If they jumped the gun trying to get the 6.2s and 3.5s out right now for 09, they would end up with more mechanical issues and their trucks would be less reliable.. GM still has their 5.3 engine in their silverados and they are only 315-330 hp engines stock. Ford will have a reliable drivetrain to go with the new body style and they are going to be about the same hp as GM but the chassis will be much better. I would rather see ford come out with their new engines with most of the bugs out of them already and just knock the competition off altogether.
No disrespect meant to you at all NGM as you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but obviously, a whole heck of alotta people care...and Ford should be one of them. Now I'm not saying that they should be worried, but they (and we) should atleast care. Seeing, knowing, and paying attention to what the competition is doing is smart business and how one stays on top. Do you really think that FoMoCo's F-150 has remained #1 for this many years and running w/out caring what their competition is doing?

P.S.
And while I understand that this is an F-150 site (and what I'm about to say might be considered sacriledge!) but can one still not appreciate a nice piece of machinary?...I mean 380hp for God's sake!! I mean I think that even Leonardo da Vinci prob gave a little inward nod of approval/respect when he first stared upon the Sistine Chapel (but in no way am I alluding to that this Ram is ANYWHERE near the same level of artwork as Michelangelo's prized piece!)

I don't care because Dodge has not made a truck that impresses me since the 70's. Those were tough trucks. The newer ones cant keep a transmission in them. The Crew Cabs(with the exception of the Mega Cab) is cramped in the rear. Sure they have 380 hp.. So what if it wont stay together. The interiors are way inferior. There is a reason Dahlmer sold them off. Because they suck.
