That is straight out of the industry standard Chilton labor time guide that ALL mechanic shops go by to allocate labor time for any given job.

You may think it's exaggerated but it is what it is.

P.S. Time given is for removal AND replacement so if all you want is help to remove, cut the time in half.

It's just bolts and wires. The wires only plug in one place. A Haynes manual is helpful for someone that doesn't know what they're doing.

It was a sarcastic remark from my end. But I don't see how it'll take six hours to remove what I have left. I'm not even asking someone to get dirty. It was a simple request in reality just for a hoist. But I guess ppl are reading it wrong.

I understand all that. And yes I have the manual. But like I mentioned before, it's just a request for a hoist and an extra set of eyes or hands if you wish and remuneration for your time (even if your supervising).

I hope that makes sense now.

No one is reading it wrong, that is a labor intense job, if it was easy you would already have it on the floor.

Which is why I said good luck finding help.

Could a tow truck do it? I've got buddies who use a tow truck to remove their welder out of the back of their truck when they are in a bind.

Harbor freight sells a hoist for like a hundred bucks. I wouldn't trust my life with it but it worked perfectly to install my Lightning motor in my Supercrew. Start to finish it took me and a friend stopping once to eat and 2 trips to the parts store 9 hours and I was driving it down the street.

We both were VERY familiar with that engine and truck and it took 9hrs, not saying it was long, actually think it was fast but for someone not as familiar with it could take 2,3,4 times as long. I had everything unbolted from the long lock expect the motor mounts and tranny when my buddy and I started the swap.
