Ran the 150 to work today. Everything seems to be fine now, no more bucking, and torque converter appears to not be locking/unlocking like before.
Don't have a clue what may have changed between going back to stock, then back to the 93 Race tune. Glad whatever magic happened, did.

The updates are for the device it self (bug fixes, new operating parameters as well as updates to canned tunes the device comes with) When you need a change to a custom tune you have to data log your pcm operation while you drive and send it to them for tweaking and they then send you back the updated tune.

You misread what they meant. When they said to make sure to update the device, they simply want to make sure your device is running the latest firmware as a precaution, meaning if something goes south they know exactly where to start a search to troubleshoot it.

This was covered in more than just emails. Spent time on the Phone with Mike and J.R.

Either way, OP's issue seems to be resolved.
