Default MPT help

Firstly, this thread is not a slam on MPT, nor will it become that. In total fairness, I have not contacted MPT yet. I expect them to be able to work this out, they are a standup company from what I've read.

I need input from you guys running the 93 Racetune.
I think my torque converter is locking/unlocking under certain conditions during steady state cruise, 60 mph/on cruise, and a slight increase in going uphill.
The truck will sometimes buck when this occurs, RPMs increase close to 500 RPMs, then immediately return to the steady state, right about 1500 RPMs.
I can be driving, and occasionally I can feel the engine speed up, and see it on the tach, and then return to normal. I tried the same speed on cruise, locking out 6th gear, it didn't make a difference.
This happens at 60 mph, on cruise, whether or not I'm in tow/haul mode, or regular drive. The truck doesn't appear to downshift at all when this happens, I'm watching the gear indicator on the dash.
Another thing, I was on cruise, 60mph in tow/haul. I was coming up to my turn, and turned the cruise off with the button on the steering wheel, and tried to coast down as usual. It immediately downshifted from 6th, down to 4th. Noticed that right away, I did!!!
I won't be able to contact MPT until Monday, just curious if anyone else has had this happen, and what was done to correct it.
I might add, I did a KAM reset, and no difference. I'm thinking about unloading this tune, and then reload.
If I can't get any info from you guys, I'm going back to my 5* 91 P/T until this can be remedied.

Return back to stock then reload the MPT tune. I run MPT tunes in my 2011 v6 Mustang. If that doesn't help, call them on the phone. I had a problem once and they sent me a new tune for 'free'.

If you can run on the factory tune, check to see if your rpm is still doing what it is with the MPT tune. You 'could' have something wrong with your motor causing your problem and its not the tune. Maybe?

Well, I think I have a measure of success. I went back to stock,[man, that things a pig], and no problem. I then reloaded the 93 Race, and drove the same route I take every day, no problems. Same conditions, 60 mph, on cruise, same incline, everything, except the outside temps are much lower today.
Why would this be?

I've noticed a downshift using the MPT 93 race after I've floored it and let off completely while slowing down, 6th to 4th, 5th to 3rd and so on but only under hard acceleration followed by rapid decel. Other than that it's been great.

I can understand that, my 5* 91 P/T does that as well. I was just steady state on cruise when I turned the cruise off and it went to 4th. I really haven't floored it yet with the MPT tune from a dead dig, I have gotten on it from about a fifty mph roll, and backed off about 80, foot completely out of it, it just went into 6th gear like you'd expect. Didn't take long to get to 80 either, I like that!!!

Did you run the updater on your flash device after setting the vehicle back to stock? SCT does put out updates pretty regularly for the base tune. MPT and 5* recommend updating every once in a while.

No I didn't. I had updated the 5* tunes and the device, back in August I think it was, and this MPT tune is only about a month old.
If reloading the MPT tune hasn't cured the problem, I'll try that anyway. I'll know for sure tomorrow morning when I head off to work.

I was told by sct that system updates only affect the canned tunes, they do nothing for custom ones.
