Sorry you're having so many issues. That sure is a nice looking truck.

I have about 53K on the truck right now, the majority of those being open highway miles. My off-roading consists of the occasional maintained fire road - I'm not in the habit of abusing the rig. By all accounts, it's babied.

I have a 2016 with 46K miles and have had no problems. I traded out of a 2007 Silverado with almost 200K miles that the suspension/ride was horrible on from day 1 and that burned oil from 30K miles which GM said was "normal". The torque management made it gutless too. Didn't really have any mechanical problems with it otherwise, but the refilling oil every 800 miles was a deal breaker for me. Burning that much oil I couldn't trust it not to lay down on me somewhere out in the boonies. I'm sure they fixed a lot of that with the remodel in 2014 or whatever, but don't give me a (crap) sandwhich and tell me its roast beef. Side note: my bosses 10 speed denali transmission has been out 3 times in 50K miles. But overall I believe the trucks are all pretty comparable (except Ram- sorry coudn't resist- my coworker just told me that they had to get rid of thiers before it 100K miles and was junk LOL) whatever floats your boat.

So far I love my '16 F150. Ride is incredible, great engine, great mpg, sync is the bomb. Went with the 5.0 for simplicity sake and because I keep mine forever. I bought the extended warranty since it was a new model which I never do.If it last anywhere near as long I may keep it forever.
I dont think GM makes a 10 speed. At least not until 2019, oh and the 10speed in the Fords is a GM/FORD collaboration. Now GM's 8 Speed that is in my Sierra is a hunk of ****, nobody likes, and if they claim to then they're just full of it. But hey, GM says it works as intended lol. Clunky at low speeds: like THUNK did someone just rear end me? Nope just my transmission downshifting lol. Stomp on it and its butter smooth. Go figure

I get a little apprehensive reading some of the issues posted here.
Will my IWE's kick the bucket or start clicking?
Will my tranny die all of a sudden? Or develop shifting issues?
Will my engine die suddenly? Develop the infamous phaser/chain tick? Blow a apart?
Will my truck develop a water leak?
Will my door locks freeze?
On and on.

The only quality issues so far with my truck have been:
-slight misaligned driver's side door
-tail gate step sticking
-sharp protruding piece of metal sticking out from the pass. head rest
Ford warranty took care of them all.

Other than those minor issues my truck has been flawless at around 18k miles and counting.

Good luck with your issues, they suck! My 3 F150's have been (knock on wood) have been great... My '16 has (knock on wood again) through 15K miles had been mechanical issue free. Sorry for your situation.

Thanks. This is my third F150, my last was an '04 with a Triton and it was bullet proof all the way around, as was my '02. Not sure what's going on this round...one or two issues I can accept in a mass production vehicle, but this is starting to get to a point as I mentioned before. Glad to hear there are more folks not in my boat than are.

All trucks can have their issues. Had a Dodge Durango. New transmission at 52k, an 88k. Complete front end rebild at 42k, 71k, and 102k. Massive rust. Front fender, bumper, rear hatch. Main electric switch panel in drivers door shorted out and melted at 68k. Plus the normal fuel pump, belt idler, ignition pack, a/c failure all under 100k. Had multiple chevy's and a lot more fords. Early yet but no issues with like my 2018 xlt.

It's funny mine had issues when I first got it, then once those were corrected, was good until the first time I towed my RV. Then it was downhill from there. Truck has not been the same since, and man does it like to groan when slowing quickly from 55. Just waiting for the BANG.

They all have problems. Go to their respective forums and see the complaints. Ford owners, however, seem to get more upset than owners of other brands.

Owner survey shows that vehicles are more dependable now than ever before. I'm not that old but I remember when having a car or truck flip the odometer was a big deal because it didn't happen often. Back then they only went up to 99,999 miles. Now we don't even think about the 100,000 mile milestone and get very upset if anything breaks.

Ford sells over 800,000 F series trucks a year. If 5% have significant problems that's 40,000 trucks, not a small number. But that also means that 95% or 760,000 trucks are virtually problem free. Now it sucks for the 40,000 people that got a problem child but those are good numbers.

Ford, Chevy, and Ram make really good trucks. But they are never going to have 100% of the production run be problem free. Thousands of part, numerous suppliers, and assembly lines running at 100% capacity gives plenty of room for something to go wrong.

If there is one or two problem issues, that's understandable, but multiple issues on a single truck, that's just not right.
