He bought it brand new, and constantly gets driven around the province to various construction sites. On it's original (although it was rebuilt at roughly 500k KMs) engine. (Trans #4 though)

I would consider an Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) Battery in Group Size 65. These last twice as long as lead acid and also handle deep discharges much better.
