Default Lariat vs King Ranch

Hello, I'm about to order an F150 in the next couple of weeks and I'm torn between a King Ranch or a Lariat. A friend of mine has a KR and I am really impressed by it but I'm wondering what besides the very nice interior and external differences are there to justify the extra $5000? My local dealer just got a Atlas Blue Lariat delivered and it a very nice looking truck. I'm really leaning towards the Lariat now.

Welcome.
You are the only one that can decide what is worth an extra 5K..

We have no idea how the dealer ordered the Lariat and what options it does and doesn't have. Compare the two. Only you can decide if you want to spend $5K more for whatever the KR has that THAT Lariat doesn't. Good luck.

P.S. - If they HAVE the Lariat now, that's a big plus.

How long will you keep the truck? Will your guts churn for years because you cheaped out and didn't get what you really wanted? Will you sit in traffic for years looking around the interior wishing you had bought the KR? On the other hand, It's a Truck for christs sake. Both models will tote the same load.

Look at the build sheets to get an idea as BASICALLY the King Ranch says to the effect, "Everything on the Lariat plus blah blah blah". Equipment 'packages' can bring either of the vehicles to pretty much the same level. And remember of course, about $1000 of the KR price goes to the...drum roll...actual King Ranch in Texas for royalty payments.

The King Ranch will probably tote less load, hehehe.

I always wondered about what the deal/arrangement was. Just curious, how’s you come across that amount/details?

Agree.
I simply preferred the interior of the KR, so I picked that trim. It really just comes down to that imo.

Yeah so many variables that change from guy to guy, the only way to know is to take each for a spin. Or at least sit in them while deciding if the 5K is worth it. Though I have a Lariat my opinion is watered down in part because it's an 06 (less than 50k miles though). I've always admired the KR but I've put so much into my truck I'd put it against most KR's.

That said if it were me I probably wouldn't want the same truck my buddy got
