Default who knows minnesota law? or who heres police?

so i was drivin today and i got a little close to a prius when changing lanes and he gets all pissed and flips me the bird. i keep drivin and he speeds up and honks and flashes his lights at me and i keep drivin. then he gets behind me still honkin and flashin the lights so im lookin in the mirror and stuff then theres a red light. i hit the brakes go toward the left turn lane since there was someone in my lane stopped then i see the light going straight turn green so i hit it and get over. now apparently when i hit the brakes the guy hit my trailer hitch and has a huge hole in his bumper. i heard my bucket in the bed rollin around the other noise i heard i thought was my axle because it does make a weird noise when i hit the brakes too hard so anyway i keep drivin then get a call sayin the cops are at my house and the cop talks to me and tells me what the other guys said and looks at my truck and says i could be charged with hit and run if the guy wants to press charges? number one problem is he hit me and in mn i thought there was no fault insurance and the person who gets hit isnt at fault? and i honestly didnt think that my 5500 lb truck with oversized tires and ****ty brakes could stop faster than a ****ing prius. im kinda pisssed and wanted to vent and also was wonderin if there were any officers on here from mn? i wanna know what could happen to me..

Im not from MN but it seems your problem is not whos fault the collision was, its that you left the scene of the collision.
My advice FWIW, call the officer who took the complaint and tell him you honestly didnt even feel the hit and didnt notice anything out of the ordinary.
And dont mention anything about being pissed at the other guy or hitting the brakes or the immature little chase scene that went on prior to the collision.

You were not in the wrong anyways. For all anyone knows you could have feared for your life the way the guy was chasing you. And yes if you don't know he hit you then why would you stop? I can't even begin to explain everything I'm thinking about the situation, but yes I would be pissed off about it too.

people leave collisions alot, the other day my buddies sister rear ended an old lady in a buick, she pulled to the side to take care of the situation and the old lady just took off even though it wasn't her fault, you are just unfortunate that they actually took ur plate number and everything

thats just my opinion im not a lawyer or anything like that
