Default have you purchased a Maintenance Agreement for a vehicle

has anyone heard of a Maintenance Agreement - I have a new truck ordered and they sent me a "Maintenance Agreement" if I want to purchase (not dealer I am buy truck from but another that I found on the website from a Ford Dealership) it covers everything from oil changes, wiper blades, transmission oil changes - it follows the owners manual -

would like to know your thoughts if you have one or not - is it worth the money?

has anyone heard of this - have you used it - this is my first time hearing about this

this is for a new 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum

- cost $1,950 for 8 years 100,000 miles
sounds like a good deal = if prices keep going up - will check more in detail before purchasing

service manual

- oil and oil filter change every 5,000 miles
- tire rotation every 5,000 miles
- spark plugs 60,000 and 100,000 miles
- brake fluid every 3 years
- cabin filter every 20,000 miles
- engine air filter - as needed or 30,000 miles
- wind shield wipers as needed
-- drive belt 100,000 miles
- all fuel filters every 30,000 miles
- replace brake pads as required
- etc etc etc

I normally dont follow this book - I dont change the brake fluid (my neighbor works as a mechanic for Mercedes and said I should), and I change the filters when I think that they are needed, - so have not decided, was hoping someone had a contract and can say if it is worth the money - if I do all this I think I would be ahead ???

HARD PASS

Id pass for many, many reasons. Biggest would be having an unknown person putting unknown oil and unknown filter on my truck. Don’t want that to happen once, let alone prepay at a premium for it to happen 20x. Also wouldn’t want to waste time to make and go to appointments for things that can be done at home, with parts I choose, in minutes (filters, wipers, belt, etc).

if you seriously consider purchasing, be sure to find out what happens to your $2k if your truck gets sold, wrecked or stolen before your policy is used/expired.

I have the Ford Extended Service Plan (name may be wrong), where all the maintenance is covered. I know for some it's a waste of money, but for me, time is money and I'm not a car person. I'll drop the truck at the dealership and pick it up at the end of the day. I always got synthetic oil and trusted the local dealer to take care of it. Which, they did. I traded my '17 in for a '22 and have it again.

I would definitely skip it. More importantly is the information right off the website:

Scheduled Maintenance

The following services are representative of required maintenance for your vehicle. Your actual plan will be based on your vehicle’s maintenance needs as indicated in your Owner’s Scheduled Maintenance Guide: The list provided above does not come close to the owner's manual service intervals, which are much longer.

I shopped 10 dealerships to get the best price before placing my build sheet order. Turns out the best price came from Apple Ford here in Maryland. They provide free oil changes, tire rotation and washes for life. And a lifetime limited engine warranty. This is on all vehicles they sell and at no extra charge.

I've seen this same thing from other dealers in a few states.

I had a warranty similar to this on a used truck I bought from a dealer. The catch was: all service and repairs must be done by them in accordance to the owners manual to maintain the warranty.

Oil and filter every 5K? When did they go to that? I thought it was based on the oil minder?

I looked up the owners manual on the computer to see what it says
5,000
7,500 low usage
10,000 possible with the hybrid it says
I always change at 5,000 miles - may be overkill as easy to remember
