I had an aluminum craftsman that I bought for like $300 7 years ago. It started leaking down within a year. After about 3 years it wouldn’t even lift my Mustang. I bought a low profile steel one from Harbor freight about 4 years ago and it has worked fantastic for everything from my Mustang, JKU Wrangler and wife’s Explorer to even my brothers Yukon XL. Have never jacked my F150 up yet.

I’m not a fan of the aluminum ones. They are bulky and make funny noises, and really aren’t that much lighter. I have a very low opinion of most of the crap harbor freight sells but my experience with their jack and stands has been great. The jack I have looks like the yellow one posted above but it is grey, they may have changed their brand name.

I have the yellow 3 ton Daytona jack and am very pleased with it. Have not tried jacking up the entire side of the truck, but does raise each wheel easily. Never trust the jack only however, and always use Jack Stands.

3 words: Harbor Freight Junk

If you're looking at an Arcan, you will probably not be satisfied with some imported rebranded, no-name factory jack from Harbor Freight.

The Arcans are very nice and well-made. I have the Arcan XL 3.5 ton quickrise, low-profile. It's much less expensive than the ALJ3T. It's also a lot heavier, lower profile, and has a higher upper limit. I like it because it can roll under and jack both my F150 and a Corvette with 4" ground clearance.

I think Northern Tool does have the best prices on these. I'd shop them direct rather than via Amazon, though.

Had my Arcan for about 4 years, and would not hesitate to buy it again. It will definitely last my lifetime.

I have 3 of the 3 ton steel Harbor Freight floor jacks without problems.

They usually go on sale from $70-80

I have two of these and they have been flawless. Had them about 8 or 9 years.
