I think I wouldn't do any of that to my 2002 so I definitely wouldn't in a 2016

I think it is safe to say, that we have thoroughly checked it out....

It just for marketing purposes, and failed ones at that. But hey, they gotta stay afloat somehow.

There will always be "feel good" marketing surrounding every brand we like/dislike. Ford, Chevy, VW, ... doesn't matter; they all do it. Truth is, we hear and see what we want to believe and look for validation in mass marketing so that we feel good about our decisions and choices. Chevy makes just as good of a product as Ford; just depends on which product resonates more personally with you.

That's why I'm leaving all these threads open. If I close them, the user base will go nuts and say the forum is being paid off by Ford to do so, which isn't true. I believe if I leave them open our users will point out reasons why the commercial is flawed. Since I've been a member here, I've met many smart people who can back up what they say and explain it logically.

GM is behind Ford, and is just now developing aluminum bodies for Silverado and Sierra. GM is also way behind Ford in engine technology, still using pushrod, 2 valves/cylinder engines in the Silverado and Sierra.

GM doesn't reply when they are asked about the new aluminum F-150 passing the offset crash tests, and the steel Silverado & Sierra fails the test.

Those crash test results were the first thing that got my attention when I began to research all trucks for a purchase. It did not take much research to see that Ford is innovative which puts them light years ahead of the others. I know we can all read some negative stuff on this forum about our trucks but I believe for the most part the Ford F-150 is still the better choice.

Now regarding that video. If you purchased cinder blocks for a project would you risk breaking them by dumping them in the bed like that? Ok, if you were to dump cinder blocks in your truck bed they would probably be trash blocks that were busted up and needed to be hauled away. So they would be pieces of broken blocks.

I would like to see that same test with the same amount of cinder blocks but busted up like you would more likely be hauling them. I don't know what the results would be but I bet it would not have the same result.

Second observation, if you HAD to be involved in a off set crash as the driver, which truck would you want to be in, the new Ford F-150 or the new Chevy Silverado?

Have you ever noticed that McDonalds never goes after Burger King or Wendy's in their ads but the other 2 are always comparing and attacking McDonald's? The industry leader rarely needs to attack those bringing up the rear.
