F150 decision
If you're truck is going to double as your family vehicle (as mine does) then you have to go with the supercrew. My dad has an 03 extended cab and there's no way I could imagine putting my 2 kids back there. I love my superecrew and wouldn't trade it for anything else out there.
Thanks again for the advice all. Think I'll hold off my purchase just a bit until I've got a bit more for a supercrew. The fact that I did some major damage to my trade in today (blasted deer) is gonna put a hold on my plans as well. That "black beauty" of yours wxmcpo is sweet! I don't want to spend that kind of money just yet, but down the road that kind of truck is ideal! One more quick question, anyone know how much of a difference in mpg concerning the big 8 vs the small 8? Again, thanks all.
small v8 gets better than big v8
(ex. [bear w/ it bein ford vs. gm] my stepdad had a chevy silverado 2500hd w/ the 8.1l and got 8 or 9 mpg and the f150 i was goin to get had the 5.0l and got 11-15 mpg

Zatokrup,
I would recommend looking closer at local sources. I know there are a few dealerships in my area (Iowa - a lot of salt used here too) that ship in "unsalted" vehicles from Colorado and such. I was able to buy my '00 XLT (64k miles, 2 wheel drive) for just under 10k 2 months ago. In my personal experience, I have found many good deals locally were just not advertised. The dealers sell them quick enough and they are not worth the effort of putting them online to sell or even in the papers.
Good Luck.

The one bit of info I haven't seen here is to becareful when buying the 5.4 because of the plug blowout problem. The 4.6 has had less of a problem in this area. Don't know if you plan on towing or not. Just my .02 worth.
