Like others I create electronic copies of the receipts (oil, filters, etc). I keep a log book in the truck showing the date, mileage and the services performed.

Well... one more reason to find yourself a good dependable oil change place. Receipt are generated and even kept on computer. Generates a third party confirmation of service. Can be retrieved and you get to read an old magazine and drink some awful coffee and leave with your hands and clothes clean. Plus... Im too old to be crawling under trucks anymore.
I don't do this now as I get my oil changed @ a dealer/quick lube etc.. & have receipts !!
But for those that changed their own from barrels /walmart ....have those proper receipts etc. but also document in a little book (mine was in glove box) ....
Jan 13th 2004 ...changed oil/filter ...serviced Trans. Feb.28th replaced bulb right tail light .checked tire pressure...etc,etc.....This will hold up in court I would think !!
In short keep records !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One good reason to buy your oil and filters from Amazon. All you have to do is go to your account and anything you ever ordered is on there, with the order # and date and price etc. This works really well for anything that has a warranty because you don't have to save all the stupid scraps of paper. I did order Red Line oil from Summit Racing for my F150 though, I'll have to be sure to save a copy of that receipt.
