I just bought a case of the 5w-30w motorcraft synthetic oil to change mine. Not much more than the blend.

Question, how does a dealer prove to a customer the oil is correct and changed? KM

Some don't do them, and just charge the customer fraudulently.
I worked briefly at a crooked dealership, upon discovering their robbing customers, I quit immediately.

Back in ‘86 I was pulling wrenches in a GM store. An Astro van came in with an engine knock. Was told to pull the oil pan and see what I can find. Pull the drain plug and NOTHING came out. Stuck a screw driver in the drain hole and it looked like I dipped it in thick peanut butter only black. Still had the factory oil filter on it. Clearly this van had zero oil changes and it had 96,000 km’s on it. Service writer talked to the customer and says he was told it was a maintenance free vehicle. What he was originally told was free maintenance for 2 years - Due to a language bearer he thought it was maintenance free - meaning it did not need maintenance.
The engine was replaced under warranty

Especially for slow techs who take 14 smoke breaks a day.
Others find that flat rate times are good. One job may take a tech 10% longer to get done, then the next job is done 10% early, so it all balances out. The worst is Yamaha on motorcycle repairs, they have impossible times.

I hate when they do the work and never check it
my wife’s escape replaced front cv shaft
drove it out and parked it, I paid, tranny fluid leaking out because he mangled the seal

Ford pass app now has an entry for people who do their own maintenance. Even lets you upload pictures of receipts!!

Agreed. But there's a lot of warranty labor times that are physically not possible. For instance, I got paid .8hr for BCM diagnosis, replacement, and programming of the new BCM earlier this week. It took .8hr just to program the thing, because the programming wouldn't take the first 2 times. In a perfect world, it would have worked on the first try and the labor time would have been less infuriating. But we don't live in a world where everything works perfectly every time, which is what warranty times are based on. Anything that requires module replacement/programming on these vehicles doesn't pay for ****, sadly
