My 2010 Scab makes absolutely no noise at all when shifting into 4X4. Hi or Lo.
I don't make any special provisions for the shift, either, other than whats stated in the manual.
Only thang I have any gripe about is the gas mileage while in 4X4. Last I checked (last week) it was 11.8 mpg and I have the 4.6, 3V.
