Question Fuse keeps going out - Help!

For the past few months I've been using a small inverter in my truck for work. I always been plugging it in the 12v outlet on the passenger side and its been working.

I plugged it in the other day and it blew the fuse in the plug-in part on itself, so i changed that one, now it is blowing the fuse on the truck, in both outlets.

I can plug my radar detector and other things in the outlets, but not my inverter anymore... what is the problem???

I tried 2 fuses in both of the different spots for each one, originals and then 2 more trying it, so 3 each - 6 fuses total

Suspect the load you are applying is more than the circuit is capable of supplying.

Your inverter is toast. Throw it away and get another one.

I've been using it for the same thing for about 4-5 months now and all of a sudden it does this.

This is what I was thinking...

Like i quoted the guy above. I have already been using it for 4-5 months before and "now" it does this. I know its not how much power it uses because its barely anything at all. Its good enough for what I use that one for, but not heavy duty stuff, which I have a larger one that hooks to battery for.

I have a big one and small one for different things, such as small tasks - easy plug'n-go, and then big tasks - lift hood, hook to battery, plug tools, so and so.

Guess i gotta get a new one, but it was only like $30-40 bucks. And I bet it messed up when my buddy tried using it for a dang drill!

Anyway thanks for input everyone!

thanks everyone for input. wanted to think maybe it was the inverter itself, but needed some thoughts on it. Now im gonna stick with that since others think it too! I'll post tomorrow evening if it was the problem
