The point here is that This many brand new undelivered vehicles are needing repair without getting into the union vs non union crap.

Normal in a model change. Never order to be first.

Quality control should be a priority right behind product safety. A outside independent inspection of the vehicles by a third party is a good thing to do.

Holy crap union assembly line workers vs.non-union workers doing the followup fixes as the OPer said can't be good.
Whats missing from all this is if the defects are truly assembly line related issues or design issues.

This is the direction the new CEO is taking Ford. He would rather delay the introduction of a new vehicle if the quality isn't acceptable. Personally I applaud him for doing this. As a CEO I'm sure he is under a lot of pressure to get Ford's cash cow out on the market but he's standing his ground and holding back trucks with manufacturing defects that could be going to customers

As Ford's customers we need to show support for this action.

It's not uncommon on new releases. When I ordered my 2017 Raptor it sat on a lot in Dearborn for 6 weeks while they did quality checks and minor repairs on some.

Explorer was introduced under old CEO and they did the exact thing, per the link I posted.

If Ford is like GM heavy repair is a plum job and goes to the most senior UAW members who want a position that is slower paced than the assembly line. They don't get in a big hurry.

The new Explorer roll out was a cluster f**k, that's why the old CEO is gone and there is so much riding on the F-150 roll out to save face.
