I believe what I've been told it's the ammonia/alcohol - best to use cleaner without it.

30+ years I've always used Windex and newspaper on all my vehicles with and without tint, never a problem.

Maybe my tint is that old but I tried newspaper the first try and that started taking it off too

Either old or very poor quality tint eg: cheap. I only use Llumar or 3m on my vehicles and have never had any issues.

I've had Llumar brand tint on several vehicles over the years as well. Invisible Glass works just fine without issues on those and factory tint. My two cents.
