What is the constant maintenance required I only changed my air filter once and im just past the 70,000km mark. My co worker is over 130,000km I believe and he only done his air filter.

Come on Darren...don't you know you're supposed to change your turbo fluid and intercooler bearings every 10k miles?

If your buying a truck then MPG is not what you should be focused on IMO. From what you said you are going to use the truck for then the V8 will not be fully utilized, so I would focus on either the 3.5 eco or 2.7eco. Test drive them both and what is the best feel is what you should get. If you start to compare the numbers it will drive you crazy. Once you test drive them, make sure its the same options you will know which one to buy.

I'm not sure how the v8 got brought into this, as it wasn't one of his options...

I know certain members won't miss an opportunity to bash the Eco, and vice versa. Why? I don't know. I'm honestly impressed with the Eco engines, However, i bought my truck bc it was optioned the way I wanted, and if it had an Eco, I still would have gotten it. To proclaim one superior to the other is ridiculous.

Based on the OP's brief description, I would say yes the 2.7 is the best fit.
